Color suggestions for Fan and valve covers

I'm dropping my fan, valve covers and sheet metal off at the powder coater today, however I need some color suggestions. I can't color coordinate anything in this world, and I have scanned hundreds of posts here for suggestions. What colors would you guys do for a silver car with a stock silver engine bay? I am leaning towards a silver fan and black covers at this point.

That would be a nice look. understated but nice. You can take a file to the Porsche script and the webs on the lower covers for a silver accent on the covers too...

Scott,
I like your choice, silver fan and black covers.

i actually prefer a non-painted fan...just cleaned up then clear coated...

or else a wild lime green/mexico blue/ fireneinge red.... with everything else neutral...

but hey, if its clean it'll look great

Well I'm back to square one, I drove the powdercoater that I spoke to last week and his shop is gone. Anyone know a good powdercoating source in Colorado?

Sorry, I don't know any powdercoaters in Colorado... but keep a couple of things in mind when you do get your parts powdercoated.

1. Clean the valve covers really well after powdercoating, all parts are sandblasted before powdercoating. You don't want any sand in your oil.

2. The fan can be tricky, I had mine done and the outer portion (blades, and body) were fine but the center did not turn out as well. Either have the entire fan powdercoated or have it done like superman as pictured in his reponse.

3. Sand down the tips of the fan blades as well so there's no rubbing...

Hope this helps.

And the blue fan in the picture that's powder coat? Also it looks like the rest of the metal was just taken down to bare and treated or something, what was done?

Do the fan and housing in something subtle (silver or just a clearcoat). Leave the covers alone. JMHO,

My covers, at least the top covers look terrible, the lowers are new. Do you have any suggestions as to how to clean them up? I ran them through my parts cleaner, however they still look cruddy. I suppose I could drop them off with the people that I have jetwashing and finishing my engine case....

Try having them bead or sand blasted,

I meant to follow up on this but forgot. I have everything back from the powder coater. All parts fan included were bead blasted and then baked to leech the oils out. Here are some completed pictures, most everything was rusted and had to be blasted and baked as well.

Scott, were the fan/housing just clear coated or powdercoated silver? Did you do the outer pulley half? Engine metal pieces look great as well! I'll have to take that on as I've painted mine w/Rustoleum which lasts a couple of years or so. Areas areound bolt holes inevitably chip and peel. Please post pics once you get everything back together again. I'm sure it'll look GREAT!!

The fan and housing were bead blasted, baked and then powder coated a semi gloss silver color. The engine tin was blasted, baked and powder coated as well, I also did the engine cross bar however it's not in the picture. The total cost was $300 and it took about two weeks.

I'll be sure to post pics when I get it done, It seems like forever at this point, I have parts all over the place at different machine shops right now.
