door mechanism

Last month I replaced my window regulator on my driver side door as it had corroded. I also manage to fix the faulty passenger side window switch that is on the driver side door. I was pretty proud of myself (2 birds with one stone). Anyway I got in for a drive after it was layed up for over a month and when I attempted to get out, the inside door handle on the drivers side wont open the damn door now. I have to roll down the window to use the outside handle. I thought everything got put back together the same way it came apart. Does anyone have an exploded view or a tip on what might have become discombobulated? Thanks

You should put your model and year of car in your signature so we can tell what type of car you are working with.

Is the interior handle loose? If so, it might not be connected to the door mechanism link. Take a look.

Otherwise, remove the door panel and take a look at the linkage between the interior and exterior handles. Something is loose, broken or disconnected between the two.

Hope this helps,
Sherwood

Is the small steel actuating rod connected to the tiny plastic clip in the handle?
