Battery ventilation
I was reading another thread about battery ventilation, but I can't seem to find it again. Anyways, it prompted me to look at my battery setup in my SC. There was some white powder at the base of the battery, which I cleaned up with a stiff brush and a vaccuum cleaner. There is no corrosion of the paint or metal, luckily. However here is my question, where do you vent it out to. The battery in the car has a vent which points directly towards the fender of the car. I have plastic tubing I can use to make an "exhaust" pipe for the battery, but where do I go from there? I can not find a hole that leads to out side of the trunk. It seems strange that Porsche did not take this into account when desning the car. I don't want to drill a hole and potentially cause rust. Any ideas?

I've posted this answer before...
You can find a row of bottom-drain plugs that run left-to-right on the floor....near the front of the car. You can see the plugs from below from the outside / bottom of the car. They are flanged to act as one-way drain valves, with the big side flange on the bottom outside. Route the hose to one of these holes and push through to the outside. - Wil |

From inside the trunk I found what appeared to be a plug that may go all the way through. However, immediately below that is the front A/C condenser. Would it be safe to point a vent tube directly down on the condenser?

I couldn't find the drain plugs mentioned by Wil. Can someone post a picture?
Thanks!

Since I have removed my AC, I have the battery vent tube going out through the fan opening to below the front bumper.

Scott:
Try looking on the front / floor....middle of car....in front of the gas tank but in the area behind the front A/C blower ass'ly....itsy little black plugs that have the big flange on the outside and the small ( retaining) tabs on the inside. Can't recall right now but should be 3-4 of these guys running left-to right. Visual clue from looking underneath the car, too... For reference, my car is an '85...so it should match up with yours. - Wil
