 Yeouch. |
Lost one of my balls too.... |
Mike, tell us a little more about mas rapido... JA |
Spanish for muy el fasto dropping the clutch and going fast....and then going OHCHIT, then slowing down and grabbing the cell phone and calling AAA.... |
Flat bedded myazz home, did the pull and called in for a rebuilt unit which is what I should have done in the first place.... http://www.914club.com/bbs2/uploads/...1164509646.jpg |
I am sure it wasn't your driving... |
Can't be...cause I'm always looking for you in my rear view mirror.... |
Just wondering... should you replace the other side too (so you have two new sides)? Or, with a driveshaft do you only need to replace the broken one? |
let's see: snapped 2nd gear in the tranny a couple of month ago - now snapped a rear axle, maybe a sportomatic, hm |
 OK, yer right....but it's STILL fun..... |
oh and before I forget what happened to the rear end of the 356. That one also went up in flames after a spirited start :D |
Ah blow me...WE WERE BOTH drinking that day..... |
Got a complete axle assembly from Eric Scott Shea a poster here and on the 914 club board....excellent service... http://www.914club.com/bbs2/uploads/...1164765246.jpg |
If ya don't mind me asking...how many pesos for a nice looking new stub like that? JA |
Retail is something like 300 ish....not bad considering bare CVs are like 75 each.... |

Any chance you might have photos of these incidents? You know, ones of Mike with something funny sticking out of his nose or the interesting hats that he seems to wear from time to time? Mike, if I wasnt in Dubai or India this week would come over and lend a hand! :) Joe A |
Mike-do you have the part # for that? I might have a matching nos I would let go cheap. |
I am amazed that those axles donīt brake more often. On any car. With all that sudden torque attacking them. |
if your going to continue with this type of behavior..........do yourself a favor and attach spare, already greased, coffee can lids duck-taped to ends, to hold grease in, allen socket and ratchet, to roll bar or cage with hose clamps . then you will be able to become "ONE" with your CV'S and get home. arent those rubiks cube balls fun! been there done this.............dont fergit hand cleaner and rags! |
What have I told you Mike about drag racing on La Mesa. ;) Good thing Ingo is out of country or it might have been fixed already! |

Not like I HAD to fix, I have a perfectly running SUV and the 914/6 is on the road again....:D |
Joe, too bad I did not bring my camera this time for the CV incident. On second thought documenting the 356 incident a couple of years ago could have backfired on me... :D Ingo (at ICN enroute to NRT) Quote:

Ingo, Next time at least snap a pic with the camera phone! There are Pelican's who would pay good money for that! Have fun in Narita! Its loads better than Dubai... Joe |
Yes and yes. Tokyo is my old stomping ground.... but I wouldn't ming seeing Dubai once. Never been in that part of the world. |
Would gladly trade you. Been here on and off for 6 weeks now and while its ok, I like the Pacific Rim a lot more. Put me in HK, KL, Singapore or the like and its a lot more fun. That said, just returned from the largest shopping mall in the world, "Mall of the Emirates" and its got over 500 stores and a ski-slope. so lots of variety here. Its sure a lot cheaper here than in Tokyo... |

Well, I only do some customer management (make'em happy) at this time here in Japan. You could do that in a heartbeat. If you teach me how to fly one of those Lears or Citations or whatever it is we can swap roles for once. I only have FS 2000 seat time and some jump seat time on 777's and 747's at this point.... I know from first-hand experience that the grass is always greener on the other side. ;) Now I am off to the largest Disney Land in the world: Tokyo downtown by night. Cheers, Ingo |
