Dash ideas for 68 911L?
Hi Everybody,
My "new" 68 911L has a crack in the dash that is not the end of the world but is slightly annoying. I have seen "caps" that slap right over the old dash and was wondering if there are similar products or alternatives? I looked at a new dash and it was like $900!!! Any ideas at all would be helpful (dash speaker doesn't matter as I am going to disconnect it anyway). Thanks, joe |

i have heard and read that those plastic dash covers are not a very good match and tend to warp. the '68 is an exclusive year in that it is a two piece unit. spend $50 on a fabric cover from performance products. my cover is currently hiding 3 hairline cracks very nicely. or, i would ck w an auto-upholstery shop about just re-covering the two pieces. i have heard it's about a $125 venture depending on how much work you're willing to do yourself. vinyl is $16 a yard and i used "wallabe" to re-do my doorcaps and rear deck. it's an almost perfect match. and, i have never seen a new dash for a '68 avail in a p catalogue. '69 and up no problem. good luck.

I've got the cheap ABS cover, and it's been so trouble free (previous owner installed it) that I have put the thought of replacing it way down on my to-do list.
