I have used it and it works great. It is so much better then Lanka it is like night and day. If you have road rash get the road rash kit as the cleaner gets used up fast and you really don't need a nice wooden box (regular kit comes in a very nice wood box). I ordered a second kit for my Audi 30 minutes after I tried it.

Dean, what year car do you have? I emailed them and they don't recommend on an '87 due to the lacquer paint (no clearcoat)

I must confess. I used it on a Z3. The car is a road rashed 2001 obviously with a clear coat finish as the boys at Dr Colorchip just sent me the product. I do own a Porsche though. It is a 73 Targa that I just finished a bare metal restoration/RS conversion on. Got is done in time to take 1st place in class at the local German auto show this past September. I had Stoddard do the paint and had them put a base coat / clear coat finish in it. After what you just said it sounds like I got lucky as I plan on driving this car. If you have a single step finish it would be easy enough to spray small areas as long as you have a perfect color match. I have had great success with a kit from the auto parts store. Preval makes it and it comes with a small jar and a co2 charged sprayer. It uses factory color and thinner just like a real spray gun but leaves a little orange peel. Follow up with some 2000 grit wet sanding and a buffer and your back in business. I repainted the nose of an 82 Alfa Romeo Spider 6 years ago with great success. As always though prep is the key. If you are doing this for the first time you might want to recruit some experienced help as this may sound simple it can get ugly. Good luck.

Please elaborate...

I've never used the Langka (but I'm assuming you have), and I understand it can take a bit of finesse. Please write a little bit more about your experiences...why you find the Dr. Colorchip better. Thanks, Gary S. |

Hello Gary, Yes you are correct I have used Lanka and I guess I just don't have the finesse. I either leave to much of a bump in my touch up or wind up removing the paint I just put down. Some people say leave the paint overnight. Some say only a few hours. I am not positive as it has been a while. Bottom line is that I remember removing the paint most of the time. I recall that it requires painting each spot which is the major difference between it and Dr Colorchip. The Dr Colorchip paint is almost dry before you switch to the cleaner so you just kind of smear it around the hundreds of chips and then clean away. I have heard of others that have had a lot of success with the Lanka product so it could be worth a try. Go to roadfly.com and search for Lanka there under the bimmer posts. I am sure you will find quit a few comments. Good luck.
