aluminum Hexcell or honeycomb

Does anyone know where I can get small amounts of aluminum hexcell or honeycomb via mail order?

I'm looking for a stiff, lightwt. panel about 3 feet by 4 feet in dimension.

I don't seem to be able to find it locally, and the few companies I've turned up on web searches are unresponsive to Emails - they may not deal retail...

You may want to check periodically with Boeing Surplus
(425-965-4400).

I hope it is interesting...

BTW - anybody know if aluminum foam (with sheets on it) is as strong, as light for its strength, and as reasonably priced as hexcell?

Looks like a hexcell panel will run me $200 or so - unless I can get lucky on a trip to Seattle...

Yes - that's exactly what I want!

Thickness = not sure -- based on strength; needs to support say 100 lbs or 150 lbs across a 2 foot span.

Randy,
I'll check what I have tomorrow and let you know. I know I have some carbon/ nomex core panels that are .5" thick.

I'm sure it would - I need (at least) a piece 18" x 41" -- is it that big?

I'll Email or pm you.

Noop - I have a very very stock looking street car -- and it's going to stay that way.

I'll post all the details if it works out. Or if it doesn't...
