I keep telling you people I have a Cool Collar! Dig it.

dentist90 12-01-2006 02:53 PM

I have a dog collar that's cool. Dog still runs hot, though.

DARISC,

It comes down to an economic decision. Filters are filters if they're clean. The cost of replacing a number of FRAM filters over a car's service life is much higher than buying and maintaining the K&N type of system. I've used both and found that if properly maintianed K&Ns are cheaper in the long run and equal in performance.

David, This is all your fault. You had to ask...

Gee whiz, Donny: I knew you had one so I got one. K&N was real excited about me using their product on my hot rod and even gave me a neato graphic!

Dentist90, thanks for filling me in......I had not seen this "out of control" thread. What a train wreck of a thread. 8 pages and going on stinkin filters - JEEZE - are we a sick group or what? I'm happy to be here.

Thanks!

Who can argue with those results!

Anyone who's tested them, that's what.
Some people have found a difference when tested/dyno'd.
IIRC Bruce Anderson said they found a 3hp difference on an otherwise stock 3.2L.
To bad it was a 3hp loss.

I have a dog with the factory spec plain collar and he runs pretty darn cool. Proof that non-factory spec collars and filters (K&N) do not work.

You do understand that coldstart was kidding, right?

Watch me closely Grasshopper (David) I will see to it that snazzy ride of yours gets lots more cool stickers. WalMart's NASCAR sticker would be very special. I'm glad to see the new Pep Boys in your area is stocking cool stuff for Porsches now.
(Thanks for the call)
