help - 77 sport seat disassembly

Is there a way to remove only the bottom and rear seat cushions
from the early sport seats without a full-bore skin removal?
thanks

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking.

If you are referring to this style mid-year sport seat, then the hinge mechanism unscrews on the sides from the back rest and the bottom. In my experience, you have to loosen the back of the backrest cover to get at the cable that releases the tilt forward button to fully separate the back, the bottom and the hinge.

I'm trying to separate the seat cushion (fabric covered in your pic) and the rear backrest (also fabric in pic) from the surrounding bolsters without taking the whole seat apart.
It was easy on my 914, two tabs slid into the seat bottom.
Like your pic, the bottom of my drivers seat has squished down after 95,000 miles, and I'd like to build it up a bit, either by adding some stuffing or some wedges under the cushion.
