SinCity 911 Take 2

Hi fellow enthusiasts,
ChrisO here typing furiously from the sunny Gold Coast in Australia. Below is my new-to-me 911 named SinCity which I picked up about 2 months ago. It's a well used, somewhat unloved and much molested 1976 model. It's my first Porsche and already it's been an interesting learning curve. I'm no mechanic by any stretch but I am happy to learn and have butchered several old cars in my time.

Why SinCity? Well the car has some interesting 'modifications' and whilst these would be frowned upon if applied to any vehicle, the fact that it has been heaped upon this 911 is unforgivable! The future is looking bright for this old duck though, and over the next year or so it'll be rejuvenating and pampering her and righting a few wrongs along the way.

Now, pics.

Rear Fuchs are reps but I have the originals. Wider guards installed at some point.

Can you spot the issues here? Notice the parking sensor head unit? Yes, it has reverse parking sensors, replete with drilled holes for sensors in the rear bumper.

Unsure what possessed the PO to install l these beauties, perhaps an actual demonic possession. Behind those cushioned pads are h.e.a.v.y electric motors retro-fitted to the old window winder crank shafts. You may be asking "how does one unlock the doors from the inside with no lock knob?" Ah, an excellent question. Well the PO has installed keyless entry and clearly has 100% faith in the technology never failing. Thus, the single button attached to the key is the only method currently available to the user.

Clearly influenced by Medusa, the frunk will needs some generous and not-so-careful trimming to remove superfluous cabling and reduce about a ton of weight. Notice the keyless entry control box loosely zip tied 2mm from the steering shaft, and various other wires draped artistically over the shaft higher up?

Kissing wingtips with the daily.

At the local coffee and cars sans door trims (I couldn't stand looking at them)

Car starts poorly but runs great. Shifting the thing takes some practice but adds to the character, as do the offset pedals. I need to work on the ergonomics in the short-term; a steering wheel spacer or dished wheel will help. It's on the list, along with a bunch of other things.

Thanks for looking, and no doubt I'll be pestering this forum with the most basic of questions whilst I'm custodian of this 911 so thanks in advance!
