you would think there might be more carbon fiber splinters and such around, from my experience, carbon doesn't break nice.

EDIT: plus it looks a little photochopped

The photo was part of a pic and movie from a nightly news report from out on the east coast. Don't have the link right now, but the story was that the car owner had the car in the shop for some minor work, and the shop owner was returning the car when he swerved to avoid a truck entering an intersection and lost it.

The shop owner was interviewed, claiming he was only doing 30 at the time and when he swerved, the car just skated away like it was on ice. He suffered a broken foot or leg and said that he will flatbed exotics back to their owners from now on.

The shop's insurance is covering the accident and that a suitable replacement car has already been located.

I'm not sure it's photochopped...it's the same photo I saw. But I can't believe that a 30 mph head-on would drive the pole that far into the car. Unless when "losing it," he hit the gas instead of the brake...

funny I heard an entirely different story -

Owner loaned it to a friend to "test drive"

lost it at a high rate of speed. Friend replaced car with a lower mileage example. Suffered a broken foot.

I heard the "friend test drive" version as well. There was a thread about it recently.

This is why you don't let friends drive your Porsche.

yup, you guys nailed it, photoshop

The "test" driver broke a foot in the accident and had purchased a lower-mileage CGT the next day as a replacement.
