Missing a bolt...

After removing my muffler it seems I'm missing a bolt. Can somebody please give me the partnumber of that bolt. Doesn't seem to hold much, but it is a big bolt.

Carrera coupe 1985.

Hard to tell from the picture but that looks like one of the bolts that holds your engine carrier to the block. It is rather important.... ;)

Hi Chris,

Here are some other pics and the diagram.

It is the bolt on the right side (under). The left one seems to bolt through the motorconsole (no. 1 in the diagram) in the engine. The right one goes through the motor console and behind that there is (I think) some sort of engine tin (shroud) with a welded nut on it (see pic). I think it's been missing for quite a while. I will buy another, but do you think there is any harm done already?

Thanks,
Kees.

BTW I've used some rust penetrating fluid, no oil leak.

Sorry sorry sorry

I'm so sorry. I was wrong. It isn't the bolt with the red arrow. It;s a bolt a little higher (not shown on the diagram). Now I'm really confused.

search this here on PP.

Bolt (M10 X 50), 911/911 Turbo (1984-89)
Brand: Genuine Porsche [Photo]
N-010-450-5-OEM $3.25

This bracket that the bolt holds supports the muffler and duct pipe for the heat exchanger. If any damage is done it will show on the plate that supports the muffler on the left side and should not be on the engine. Anyway, the metric bolt size is noted above.

Thank you for your reply Tony,

I was wrong. The lower bolts (red arrow) are indeed for the muffler bracket. But that's not the bolt I'm looking for. It is just a few higher. On the left side the bolt goes into the engine. At the right side there are two holes with thread but without bolts (you can;t see the holes on the diagram).

Kees.

I am out of town for a couple days and can't go and look at my car. If you don't figure by then I'll go have a look.
Do the bolts hold the tin around the engine, the engine support rail or ???

Did someone remove the air conditioner compressor and bracket off the engine? Looks like the mounting hole for the lower part of the AC bracket.

Thanks you Tony and Kurt,

I don't have an air compressor, so that could be the answer.

Thanks,
Kees.
