Performance Ignition Upgrades?
Are they worth it on my '78 SC? Or do they ask for problems on the old cars? I noticed its a common thing on the newer cars when they are modified with MSD's and what not.
I was considering a new ignition coil, and found this http://www.***************/productpage.aspx?pid=105133&name=Nology+ProFire+Ig nition+Coil any thoughts on how that would help or worsen the motor? While looking for a new coil, i stumbled across some HP Plug Wires. I dont see how these can really improve performance but two brands claim it. I found these two: http://www.***************/productpage.aspx?pid=103397&name=Nology+Hotwires http://www.***************/productpage.aspx?pid=103588&name=Jacobs+Energy+Cor e+Plug+Wires thoughts on these would be appreciated as well. Let me know if i am straying away from what i should be upgrading on the car, i just thought this looked like an easy upgrade if the statements made are true. If anyone has experience with any of these components let me know. Thanks Ken311 |
they seem to work or not / no middle ground...there are lots of mods one is going to a "stand alone" but you have to evaluate your real needs..vs real, and- the cool factor.

zero improvement unless things aren't right with your ign. now

thats a so true...I always try to get the big picture, where is my Eng going? / and and piece I buy should fit the new application so as to not to have to do a redo later.
If you unsure of you needs its cheaper not to do anything like Randy says....but if you have 30 yr old plug wires and coil on there....you might consider those "If" your going to stay pretty much stock....Like I say, hate to go back wards and have to renew a new item.TMO |
