Updating nose clip on SC to 964 ... Please explain
 

As i had posted before i am thinking about gettinng rid of teh accordion style bumper and updating the front to a C2/4 type nose clip. Nobody ever really said how to do it or how much fabricating would go into it. Somebody said that it can swap pretty easy. What would the process be? Please explain detail thanks!

cool thanks. helps a bit. What is the smile gasket? and i assume all my lights fit the c2 nose just fine. ?? Is teher any additional hardware required?

I was looking to do the same a while back just to clean the lines up, get a smoother look. I could not find a nice undamaged C2/C4 narrow body front nose for what I had in my budget. I ended up installing a RUF Yellowbird one piece from MA Shaw. Nice clean look, uses the Carrera lights, and has a opening for the oil cooler. Total install time about four hours start to finish. I also added a set of 964 rockers and will follow up with a FG RSR rear bumper. You may also consider back dating the look as well. I have seen a lot mid year car go that route an turn out very well.

Has anyone done this by bolting up the 964 front rebar and using a factory 964 bumper cover? If so, what needs to change in any of the mounting for the 964 parts? I'm planning to do this for a winter project.

The most economical way to update to the C2 bumpers is to use factory bumpers and buy or fabricate the mounting/crash bars like pictured above. The bars bold into the existing bumper shock holes and its pretty easy to do. They also sell the 3 brackets to update the rear reflector. The hardest part to do is update the side rockers and that isn’t that bad of a job. We use some professional auto body panel glue on a couple that we did and has held for years. The wiring is pretty easy too if you like that kind of thing.

If you update the front clip with the factory C2 nose clip it takes a lot of time but can be done to look factory using the original gas tank.
