Power assisted brakes on a 79 SC?

Long story made short...A friend of my was recently selling a 1979 911 SC and asked me to drive it and give her an estimate of its value. While driving, the first time I applied the brakes I almost went thru the windshield. I drive a 74 911 coupe with "s" calipers and I always have to apply lots of force but the brakes work well. The slightest toe on these brakes and you were stopping verrry fast...are these power assisted?

Is this a worthwhile upgrade to my 74? Or for the money is there something better?

I doubt it would be worth the trouble and expense ... the calipers and rotors from an '84 and later car would fit, too, but theimprovement would be very small, if measurable at all!

stopping gain... doubt it. Also, as far as the change over is, pedal assembly, booster, lines, fabrication...etc. If you could find the parts for next to nothing it might be temping, but work.

I have been told that there is no real way to describe the incredible power of anti-lock big reds....we can all dream.... can't we?

What pads do you use currently? Pagid?

I have heard others sing the praises of SC brakes. I have not drive any non-SC 911s. but my impression is that this car stops better than any car I have every been in. I would be delighted to have a braking contest with any modern antilock brake car. I might not win, but when I want to show off my brakes to a passenger, I have to warn them first. the brakes are near-violent. I shudder to think what the big reds can do.
