stuck thottle?? starting problems?

I am starting my car for the first time in about 5-6 weeks. It has turned cold up in Northern Indiana. I start the car and it fires up then immediately shuts off (possible cold start valve). Then it just cranks over but does not fire. Today it is warmer so I try it again. The car fires up then shuts down again. I am giving some throttle on start up, mind you. Anyway the car finally starts but it revs all the way up to red line and shuts down. I try cranking again and it just turns over. So after letting it sit for about 20mins I try again to the same thing, rev'ing to red line so I turn it off this time. Could the throttle be stuck? I have not done any work to the car and it ran perfect before I put her up last time. The weather was in the 60s last time she went out and now it is in the low teens at night and barely at freezing point during the day.

Stuck throttle is a possibility. Also check for vacuum leaks (incl @ the decel valve) a sticking distributor, a sticking air sensor plate, and a stuck open airbox popoff valve.

Do you have a factory alarm unit? Does it work properly?

Please read the following thread regarding an alarm unit failure that disables the car:
