'75 911 short shift upgrade question

Hello all,
I'm in the process of doing the short shift upgrade on my car. I purchased the Porsche kit. I've removed and disassembled my shifter. Using the 101 projects book, during assembly it says to remove the large hex bolt to remove the pivot fork. My shift housing doesn't have the large bolt. The pivot fork is being held in place by roll pins on either side. It also has shims on one side to compensate for clearance. The new pivot fork is about 1/8" shorter than the original.
What have I got here?
Thanks in advance,
Randy

Randy - The older shift housings have roll pins instead of the bolt, but still work fine. Tap the pins out then shim the new parts for a good fit. If you do a search on the topic there's lots of good info and pics. Here's a link to get you started.

Short shift install today - some issues to work out.

Bill
