Smile Carrera Paint & Fuchs Restoration?

Hi fellow Porsche owners!

I live in Washington state, and I’m the owner of a black 44k 1986 911 Carrera Targa in good to fair condition. I am looking to restore her into good to exceptional condition (although I use her everyday and I’m not seeking show condition)

My Fuchs are in good condition, however the single previous owner gave both front rims mild rashes and there are a few small bare paint patches

Her body paint is fair condition, but she has 2 minor dings (1 x 1”diam v.shallow impression on psgr wing, 1 x 0.5” diam v.v.shallow impression on hood) from her original owner. She needs a full repaint with glass and trim out.

Can anyone please recommend any good restoration/body companies around Washington State to give a quality service at a reasonable price?

The closer to Seattle/Everett the better!

Thanks for your time and help!
Adrian

Can't help on the body/paint in your area, but it might be worth considering sending the wheels to a wheel refinisher while the car is in the shop. You can put "roll arounds" on it of any variety and the shop won't have to worry about them.

A quick search for "polishing fuchs" on this forum will produce at least 3 places you can send them to. I don't want to be biased, so I won't recommend. I use the one closest to me and he's excellent.

It'll be worth your time and hassle to ship the wheels to Al Reed in Anaheim, California. He's a great guy and does fantastic work. Do some searches on the board and you'll find his name mentioned repeatedly.

If you're planning on having the Fuchs restored back to original, I'd recommend Harvey Weidman - does a bit better job on original-type refinishes. Reed's great for polishing though...

Many thanks, I really appreciate your advice!
I'll follow up the leads you all gave - Thanks!

Pics of my 924S & Carrera are posted in the gallery under my id 'Carrera787'.

Sad truth about my Carrera is that the original owner had cheap paint somewhere in the recent past, it has now started to react and turn in places, and I want her rubbed back and given the quality we all know.

Thanks again!
