Positive Adaptronic Experience
I have (temporarily) given up on my MS2 project after having Peter Florence look at it, procplaim it healthy, but then have no success getting it running...my frustration took the form of searching this site and others for more alternatives.
I cam across some references to Adaptronic and did some more research. I liked the facts that: 1. Andy Wyatt, the designer and owner, was very friendly, knowledgable, chatty and local 2. He would do the install himself, on a Saturday, two days later. 3. The unit had all the features MS2 had, in fact most of what MoTec/Haltech have, and certainly more than I would use. 4. He does a lot of race car tuning. 5. The price was right, with all equipment, installation and dyno tuning at under $A1,800 (US1,400). Andy came over on Saturday and spent the better part of the day doing the install and then getting the engine run-in immediately. I was impressed with his inginuity and thorough understanding of the variables involved. I ended up springing a fuel leak towards the end of the day and needed to stop but we've got "day 2" scheduled and I'm looking forward to Dyno-Day. Will post more details after day-2, but I have to say I am quite impressed so far.
