I got a Cad plating system for Christmas

My father in law is a HARD core Mopar guy. Currently had a 54 New Yorker/ Hemi, PERFECT! I told him how I was tired of having to buy new nuts, bolts with the correct finish. So he buys me a parts vibrator, and a Cadmium plating system. I think he got it for me so he can use it too! I have not thrown away a Metric piece of hardware for 20 years. I've got shelves full of the stuff. This is to cool. My dad is a retired chemical engineer, so he coaches me through the pitfalls of working with Cyanide/Cadmium solution. If anybody out there needs a strange piece of hardware Cad plated, just send it to me, and I will do it for you. No Charge. Right now I can do small parts, the biggest I can currently do are the size of torsion bar plates. I will be ordering the larger setup soon. We have a blast console, so I can get things to bare metal easily. I just got my 73E back from the restoration shop, and am re-assembling now. I cant tell you how convenient it is to have the original bolt, strip it, plate it, and put it back in the same hole it came from. Is this Heaven? PM me for shipping instructions-Bill

I'm sure he's putting it in his neighbor's pet's water bowl... What are the correct procedures for disposing of Cyanide, not that I'll ever come in contact with it, I hope.

Bill, where are you located?

You ARE the lucky one. My father in law is a hard core GOLF guy. How boring. I did get a pair of Simpson racing gloves from the Missus.

Only the Beagle that barks at night. This set up came via UPS with a Hazardous Material designation. The outfit I got it from sells this in the Eastwood catalog. They tell me for a hobby plater like myself, the solution should last for quite some time. We have the only Uranium Enrichment facility in the country here in Western KY, chemical plants are everywhere. We have a thriving Liquid Waste Disposal industry here. Disposal is not a problem. Yes, I have ALWAYS disposed of my chemicals and oils properly, so no worries, I wont be a bad steward of my planet.

In not sure how much he paid for it, but I will find out. He is a retired Boiler Maker. You should see him weld. He has every piece of welding equipment there is. A good friend of mine told me that having a father in law like that, was reason enough to marry his daughter... added perk. He is VERY patient in teaching me the process of welding. Lots to learn...

Bill, Wow. Nice. With a father in law like that let me know if your wife ever has the notion of dumping you..... Geez, my father in law was an electrical engineer working for a phone company. The only thing I ever got was one of those old muli-phones that could tap into any phone call on the street....
