Help with local wrench in North Houston

I am looking at purchasing a motor built by German Auto Center in Woodlands, Texas (North Houston), is anyone here familiar with the shop? Good, bad, indifferent? Thanks in advance for your input.

I live here in the woodlands, and I don't recall ever seeing a German Auto Center. Do you have an address for them? I thought I knew all of the Porsche shops in North Houston.

that's the same address I came up with, however, I tried looking up a website and all I found was an address, when I drive by that spot on I-45, I don't see anything. I might just be missing it, I'll try again in the morning. That address is only about 3 miles away from me.

Garage
I noticed the shop when it first opened. It hasn't been there long (couple of months it seems?). I wonder if they were at a former location. Judging from the parking lot, it looks like they are selling older MBZ's. It might be helpful to know who the principles (sp?) are.

So, answer is no. I don't know them by company name, only that thery exist at that location.

Sorry guys for not getting back to you right away. I haven't been online since I posted the question. The address on the build sheet is:

German Auto Center
24635 I-45 North, Suite P
The Woodlands, Texas 77380

I Googled the name and the address came up the same, but in Spring Texas. I called the number and got the voicemail for the shop, so it appears they are still in business. From what I can tell, "The Woodlands" is a master planned community withing Spring Texas.

sorry guys,
my bad.... I ran by this morning and found it just south of Sawdust on the west side of the freeway. I've never seen it before and when I looked up the address yesterday, I went further south and just didn't see the sign. The outside of the place seems clean enough. I'll stop in Monday when they are opened and see what they are like.

I'm sorry,
I got by too late last night to speak to anyone there. It looks like their hours are from 8:30 to 5:30 and I'm not getting out of the office until around 6:30 these days. I'm going to try and make it by there around lunch tomorrow. I will let you know what I find out, if anything.

well,
I stopped by tonight and spoke to the owner, Sean, he seems like a nice enough guy. I showed him my car and asked him a few questions and he seems to know his "stuff". I then questioned about any Porsche engines he might have for sale... he told me he doesn't have any(I looked at your post again tonight and realized you didn't say it was a Porsche engine you were looking for - just an engine). His shop was fairly clean and he told me he has been there for 10 years. I've been looking for a wrench closer to me for routine things and I might just start using him. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

later,

Thanks Steve. The engine I am interested in is a Porsche 911 engine currently for sale in my area, but it was built by this shop. I appreciate taking the time out of your day to run by the shop.
