Replacing Fuel lines -- Help!!!
I cracked the fuel line from the filter to the distributor while working on the CIS system. I think all of my fuel lines should be replaced.
I priced the cost of replacing all of the fuel lines in the engine compartment at the Porsche Parts Shop. Ouch!!! Has anybody replaced fuel lines by buying bulk fuel hose? How do you press the hose onto the barbed fittings???? The Porsche Parts guy talked about a special tool (that he can't get anymore). ------------------ Bill Krause '79 911SC Euro |
I am also having some fuel line problems, mine are up toward the fuel pump. I have been having some difficulty removing the leaky line but think that I will be finishing tonight. I will then start to re-assemble. I plan on getting my hose and clamps from a local hose & hydraulics shop. There is a technical article written by Bob Tindel on this sight, I also e-mailed him with an additional question and he responded very quickly.
My biggest hangup is that the line going into my tunnel is rubber/plastic, everything I've heard and read indicated it should be steel. I can't imagine replacing the line in the tunnel will be an easy task! |
