Wipers work... too much!
A few weeks ago my wipers started to go off at random. A random bump or whatnot and they would take a swipe. It became more common until I yanked the fuse. I have finally decided to chase it down and kill it and I realized I had an old wiper switch with the stalk snapped off so I plugged in the other one. It does it with either one.
It isn't the column switch... I tore out the blower and disconnected the intermittent wiper relay and it hasn't done it since. That leaves me with 3 possibilities. Relay, dash switch or wire. Has anyone seen this type of failure and and know what is likely to have failed? Any ideas or theories would be welcome.

Went for a drive and discovered a flaw in my trouble shooting. If the wiper relay is disconnected the self parking part of the wiper motor is disabled so it could be the motor too.
Attached is Bentley's diagram but the internal wiring of the wiper motor is obviously wrong. It shows the red-white wire from the wiper motor (bottom right) that is hot when running, as being connected directly to ground when the internal switch is contacted. This is obviously wrong. ![]() It also shows the blue-white wire that goes to the relay as also going to ground. I suspect that is certainly wrong too. Why would you ground something by hooking to another component instead of just hooking to ground? Does anyone have a better wiring diagram that actually describes the circuit?
