What is the general opinion of the Yokohama AVS ES100 Z rated tire? I have been using the Falken FK451 tires for the last 6 years and like the handling and tread life. However, I would like to move up to the 245-45-16 size rears which Falken does not make. The Yokos have a tread wear rating of 280 vs the Falkens rating of 300. With the FK451 tires I get about 25K on the rears and over 40K on the fronts. Will the Yokos wear in a similar manner?

Hi Fred,
The ES100 has been discussed here quite a bit if you're interested in looking. I think the ES100 is probably slightly more performance oriented over the Falken -- but also won't last you as long. I had a set and they wore pretty well, but were pretty loud in the last 1/3 of their life. Good luck!

Tread wear ratings have absolutely no bearing when comparing one brand name to another...they are "indexed" only against different models from the same company.....
Economy / value point for a summer type performance tire is Kumho MX or Hangkook 212...... more so than ES 100 - Wil
