The door that wouldn't open..

I have a 70 911E Targa whose driver side door will not open for anything!

I have lubed the key-hole with dry graphite, taken the door apart from the inside, yanked on the locking mechanisim, yet, nothing! I even broke down and called the locksmith. He had no answers.

When you turn the key, the door lock plunger will go down, yet when you turn the key to the un-lock position, it feels very tight.

If one of you Porsche "know it all's"(in the best sense of the word) can relate with me, please e-mail me.. jasonborkowski@hotmail.com

Thanks.

I just fixed mine a little while ago. The problem/solution will probably be different, but here goes.
The door handle on my car has a pin that protrudes when you pull the button. This pin pushes the door release.
When I took my door panels apart, I saw that the pin was not axtending far enough to engage the door release.
I took out the lock mechanics and found the plate that the pin pushes against was bent. I just had to bend it back.
I did see that the plate was not very thick, so I could see how this would happen real easily.
See if this helps
