Turbo tie rod kit and bump steer

I have a stock 84 Carrera. I am looking to do the whole turbo tie rod dealy and address the bump steer thingy too. If I install the turbo tie rod kit, does that also address bump steer? Or do I need the bump steer kit as well?

No matter what, if you need bump steer help, the kit doesn't have it. You can buy rack spacers or a nicer setup if your car is really low.

are you getting bump steer now? What is your ride height?

I do get bump steer now. It has been lowered. (haven't measured to get a number on that yet though) I intend to lower it even more.

The bump steer kit is really simple to put in. It's a matter of 15 minutes or so to install and I think it's a $12-15 part. I'd start there first and see if that helps solve your problem. The TTR aren't terribly expensive, but it requires some effort to install.

The bump steer kit is only good for a certain amount. If you plan to go low, as you say, think twice. If you run too low, you'll end up bottoming the front, (bad), and you'll get even more bump steer (bad as well)

If you want to run that low, you should consider stiffer springs (T bars) and that of course requires different damping (tighter), as well as a more serious bump steer solution.

And of course, what you do in the front affects the back as well. So think carefullly about haow far to go. Check out Chuck Morelands website (Elephantracing.com, I think) for different solutions and expertise.
