Needing sandblasting/peening done on some engine tin in Houston any suggestions
I'm looking to have some sandblasting or peening done on my engine tin on my 3.0 that I'm rebuilding does anyone have a lead on anyone in Houston? The only places I've found are too large a companies and aren't interested in the work.

Harbor Freight tools- you can buy a box for less than $100 bucks. Rent a compressor for $40 and you can blast to your hearts content.

I second that recommendation. You'll use the equipment for lots of other stuff. I used a buddies set up at work and did everything myself saving the cost of buying the equipment but would have bought the box (I have the compressor) if I had to. I didn't trust someone else to sand blast my parts and ruin them.

If you happen to know an autobody shop, ask them. I can't see how any shop doesn't have a bead blasting booth. I've done these and they really are easy to blast quickly. And these only take a few minutes to do. I can't see buying all the equipment for a half hour of work.

I cleaned the headers, crossover pipe, muffler, pistons, valve covers, cam covers and I cannot remember what else. It took several afternoons to do. After cleaning I painted the exterior of everything with a high temp paint that I baked in the oven per instructions. 2 years later everything still looks great. I left you a PM.

I had some powder coating done at Allied Powder Coating. They do blast everything before hand. They may do just sandblasting. There prices do seem very reasonable for powder coating. You may want to consider having it powder coated especially if you are going to have to pay someone to sandblast your tin. They do have a minimum, can't remember what it was, possibly $100.00 So find all the things you want powder coated. It does look great.

I'll second the powdercoat recommendation, that's what I did with mine.
