Weltmeister jack pad and tow hook

87 Carrera Cab.
I have searched and read all threads I can find on jacking up the 911 (a considerable amount). I have a few questions that I could find no answer for. Please have patience and indulge me.
1. Are there any Pelican members that have installed and would recommend the Weltmeister jack pad and tow hook combination?
2. Is the installation straight forward?
3. Can anyone post the installation guide?
I am truly sorry to bring up a subject that has been debated so throughly. I have a list of DIYs that will probably take me through spring. If this jack pad is recommended I will put it at the top of the list. I think it will save me time and may reduce the chance of me damaging the car.

Did you find the Welt tow/jack pad for sale?

I ask because I looked on the Weltmeister site, and did not see it. I may be blind, but could not find it anywhere......if you found it, can you please post the link.......

Thanks,

Mark

I put one on my car and it works great. Installation is straight forward IF the mounting studs on the engine are long enough. If not, you need to replace the studs with longer ones.

Towing the car by the engine seems like a bad idea to me, but I'll admit that this is opinion and has no basis in personal experience, measurement, or scientific process. I know that many say the same about lifting the car by the engine, which I do on a regular basis. Speaking of which, raising the car from the back of the motor with this piece reduces the lifting range vs. using the middle/front of the engine case.

Yeah, but it puts the stress on the end, not under the sump, and directly under the motor mount cross piece.
