Question What is the official color name for my car?

I'm curious of the color name of my car. I've always called it electric blue. Where is such information posted if at all? I'm pretty sure its the stock color because I've seen one other sc (a targa) that was the same. Right now the car is in california and I'm in colorado so I can't get the numbers. Thanks.

Not Petrol Blue. Petrol is darker and goes to the black side.
Not bright blue.

Minerva Blue Metallic? Subtle shades of different colors are hard to pick out sometimes in digital pictures...

Taking a guess at the year, the colors issued for 1982 were:
1982 Paint Codes
Standard Metallic
mocha black L M9V
gabun grey L Y7A
guards red L M3A
gambia red L A3B
mauritius blue L Y5A
alpine white L 90E
havana brown L D8A platinum L M8U
light blue L M5Z
black L M9Y
lhasa green L A6V
surinam red L A3Y
meteor grey L Y7Z
diamond silver L 97A
According to the 1983 chart there were no blue's for 1983. The chart I looked at did not have earlier than 1982 color codes. The only way for sure is to check the plate near the door hinge or the sticker underside of the trunk lid for the color and options codes.

Given the vagueness of lighting, digital color pallette, etc., I still think it's Petrol Blue.

+1 read the code off of the front driver's side door pillar and post it. that will end the speculation.

It looks like a euro, which might account for it not being listed in the year's list of colors.

it's either gonna be a x 100 or a x 10 year. it all depends on how redoing the last 3 years go.

Thanks everyone for the responses, I think its much more "minerva blue" than "petrol blue" personally. I'll check the paint code next week.
