Anyone Have A Good Pic Of An older 911 In Guards Red?
I am looking for a good picture of a 69-74 911 or 912 painted in guards red. Just wondering if anyone has one.
If I understand the original red was polo red? I want to see one in guards red so if anyone has one post it! Thanks, Dustin |

Dustin, have a look at item no.443992907 on ebay. It's a '67 911 which looks as though it's Guards Red.

By the way, what does the word Guards in Guards Red mean?

Just a guess. Maybe as in a sentry. It looks pretty close to the red coats of the British Sentrys that guard Buckingham Palace. Great color. It just doesn't look right to me on an early 911. I like the early coupes in the classic Silver, also Gemini and Black. I love early Targas in Aubergine.

The guards refer to the Queens Guard who wear red uniforms

I think the above on what "guards" means is accurate, as the full name of the Porsche color is actually "Guardsman Red."
