Garage
Phase 1 of new garage done :)

Tori and I moved into our new house about a month ago. My primary goal was to get one of the garages ready for my race car. Here are some pictures of the first phase. I used the "Motofloor" (Costco's Race Deck which is made for them) Painted the walls light grey, Added the TV. I think it looks pretty good.
Before:

After:

Now I hope Santa brings me the garage workbench and accessories I wanted

But now I get to deal with the other two garages...... HELP ME!!!

Its looking great. Are these garages attached to the house? I'm not familiar with the separate garages built like this being attached to the house. Any outside pics?

Poor guy, too much garage space to deal with. Somehow I think you'll manage.

Kudos

Outstanding garage space Chad! I like that a lot.
Tell me more about the floor material you used if you don't mind.
I have a double/double garage (4-car), garden windows and finished/painted walls with a dedicated space for "Precious." Does Costco sell that flooring? I haven't seen it before and I think I like it. About how much a sq. ft.? I'd love to do one garage (two car) area with something like that. Did you install it yourself? I'm looking for a suitable (good looking and durable) flooring for a remodle coming up in January.
PM me if you like.

Sweet job!
Here's my garage, wife has the other 2 car space loaded with girl stuff (not that there's anything wrong with that!)...

Thanks for the compliments. It was fun to do. Tori kept on saying I was "Nesting" for the arrival of race car. It had been at my parents house since April. They are glad to have the extra garage back now.

Well She is in Plenty of room.

Yes, I installed everything myself. Really easy. I would suggest using a table saw. It makes the cutting much easier and cleaner. I do suggest (a friend suggested it to me and it makes sense) using an under mat (like what is used under hardwood floors..foam/plastic roll) It's cheap, and it quiets the walking around on the tile alot. Plus, if you spill oil it will not seep in the cracks and stain the concrete below.
There is also a ceiling fan with plans for adding A/C for those hot Fresno summers. The Electrician will be by soon to add a few more outlets and a bunch of lights.

Here is a picture of the front of the house. I'm really lucky because it is a huge lot (almost 16k sq ft.) and has room for RV (trailer) parking on the side
The downside is I have to have all that concrete poured and it is very pricey....

Back to the flooring, I plan on doing it on the other two garages also.... very nice looking....plus if we ever move again, I can take it with us.... unlike my old epoxy.
I planned on getting a mid rise lift. However I do not know if the tile can take the weight/and sliding of the lift. I guess I may find out later.

So Chad...you have had epoxy and now gone with Racedeck. I know the RD is new to you, but why didn't you do epoxy again? What is the cost comparison?

Great looking setup!!

Wow Im glad I asked about a picture now. I really like that. Good job.

I am working on some plans now to build my dream home in the next couple years and may incorporate this along with a large building to house cars.

Thanks guys. We really love the house to. One of the best features of the house you cannot see from the outside. There is an interior courtyard that the house is built around. Great for entertaining (outdoor fireplace etc.) That was the selling point for her... Mine was the RV parking and lot size .

As for having the epoxy, I liked it also. I was going to do it again but the temperature is too low right now to make it adhere properly. I did not want to worry about it peeling because of poor prepwork/ or outside temp. I think the tiles cost a bit more (about $2.06) a square foot than the epoxy would of. The benefit is I can always take them if we ever move, and I do not have to worry about epoxy peeling later down the road. I also wanted a checker board pattern

Just cut the tile away for the lift footprint. You may even eliminate the need for ramps if you do that due to the thickness of the tiles, depending on the car's clearance. You wont regret getting it, regardless. Nice work so far!

Can that flooring take a jackstand or floor jack?

Cheers

Dude I like your floor , I want to do something like that but my (attached) garage is 1150 sq. ft. so I would need 24 boxes of tile at $99.00 a box don't know if I can convince the wife we need that floor when I got to dump that kinda money on it...lol

The first time I checked out my condo, the garage was empty and I was worried about being able to wrench on my cars in it. The next time I went to look at it, there was a 996 in the garage. Seller was a Porsche guy. So that sealed the deal for me. And, when it rains, I'm even able to squeeze the bike in. Not bad for a condo with a one-car garages.
