6806 for a 69' is Irish Green. Not sure what "G" stands for. Kunstharzlack is German for the type of paint ie. like hard laquer. I think its like saying Glasurit.
Interior colors were red,black,brown or biege in vinyl or leather. Seats could have dogtooth fabric or not in the middle section. You can get the specifics from Walter Miller (315)432-8282 www.autolit.com He specializes in the literature on these cars. He also has samples. ...that is if you can ever get through to Walter Miller. Just concluded one of (if not "the")worst internet commerce transactions with him. Emails, faxes, calls...like pulling teeth! Be careful!!

The "G" indicates the manufacturer of the paint itself. My 70 is an "H". Unfortunately I don't have the legend of these codes handy, but if I dig it up I'll repost.

OK I found it:
G = Glasurit (now BASF Glasurit) H = Herberts Paint (now DuPont Herberts) L = Lesonal R = all paint manufacturers |

I didn't even notice in the original post you also wanted interior pics. I haven't posted all of them yet, but here is the interior pics page for my 70E Targa:
http://www.nosubstitute.org/911e/interior/default.asp Let me know if you need info/pics on any specific part. I have basically redone the whole interior. I'll try to upload the rest of my pics this weekend. [This message has been edited by campbellcj (edited 10-13-2000).] |

Hi Campbell cj,
I think I was visiting your page a time ago, but it seems to me that you have been changing (updating) it, am't I right ?. I also think that I was spending (investing) some hours downloading your photographs. I have a lot of them of the process you describe so well & I hope they would help me in my attempt of restoring. You do Sir. have a very good piece of beauty there. In some way that set of pictures gave me courrage to start the job, but the situation is in many ways different. First of all, I do not have the knowledge & infrastructure to do some of the work you did directly on your project. I will depend on the skills of mechanics & the best of my abilities on supervision. The scale of time, then, will be a little longer tahn your's, that is for shure. The other problem here are the costs of each item that I have to replace. The spares are not in stock & we have to import them from the US or Europe. Then, the other problem is that if something doesn't fit, well... it will be a little bit more complicated than going to the next block store.... Nevertheless, I am anxious about the starting point, I hope soon. As soon as I receive the license I will begin uploading pictures of the initial situation and request your opinion. By and thanks for the help. Ed. |

Ed,
Believe me, I relied on the "pros" for the major jobs. What I did myself was mostly disassembly, buying and/or restoring MANY parts, and reassembling everything. Next time, I'll do much more of it myself since I've learned so much in the process. I definitely understand the time and money issues. I live in Los Angeles so I have very easy access to Porsche parts, mechanics, and hardware but it is still difficult finding the money and time to work on these projects. Good luck on yours, Chris C. |
