I don't know that there are any repros of the OEM style hardt targa top. The repro sold by PP is a fiberglass shell bolted to the frame of a soft targa shell, which you provide.

The OEM hard top targa attaches to the rear "face" of the windshield header, not the rear. There's two squarish holes underneath the vinyl, which get little trim pieces when the hardtop is used.

If you do a search for my username and 'targa top' you should be able to find the pix I posted some time ago.

Do your latches twist to lock, or do they latch straight back, up under the top?

The hardtop that I have has a semi-smooth finish; not pebbly like a soft top, but not polished like a steel roof.

roof

the latch do not twist,, it is some some of double hinge with a hook, you pull down and forward to put the hook in the hole and then you push back up and them fold the plastic thingy in the hole, i will try to take picture tonight

My fiberglass top is smooth and painted body color, and latches just like the folding top. It was said to be factory, but I don't know for sure. I can tell you that it is much heavier than the folding top, and mine needs to be adjusted as the outside of the leading edges sits up higher than the windshield header, which results in wind noise. Thus I don't use it much. I think it would be pretty quite if the leading edge sat flush.

Freezing: it sounds like you indeed have a factory hardtop; I'll give you $100 for it - that's what I paid for mine

That appears to me to be a legit OEM hard targa top.

I'll double my previous offer

I thought about using mine to repro them, but it would have set me back a serious grip to have the latches made.

What year is your car? Those only fit in the trunks of cars with non-boosted brakes, from what i'm told.

the car is a 75 , i am not sure if it is a early or late,, but it does not have a brake booster,i know in my 914-6 there is hook and latchs in the trunk but no evidence of that in the 911 to secure the top in the trunk, I guess the folding one are easily available and might be a better way to keep lugage room
