Protection from sparks when grinding/cutoff work?
So i found the sawzall to be a bit too slow cutting through angle iron the PO used in my car to mount his seats. Solution was to buy an angle grinder and a cutoff wheel. Well that puppy goes through QUICK but makes a LOT of sparks. I used some painters drop cloths but managed to actually set fire to one and burn a small area in my carpet.
What can i use to eliminate this issue? Wet rags? Cardboard? I am anxious to get back to work on my seats (got some new nurburgrings going in!) but don't want to burn my car up doing it! Erik

Yeah, Harbor Freight has one too for less I think, but if you want to proceed immediately, the wet towel thing will work. Don't bear down so much and your sparks will be less intense (hot). Don't use them to dry the car afterwards.
![]() That's funny about the butterfly. That's just about the case, too, eh? ![]() |
