Going broke, and you guys aren't helping!

It all started, when I got my 911T last year. It was a good "driver" that look pretty sharp; red, black interior, 14 Fuchs. I intended to just drive it. Then I saw all these great looking cars that made me think, "I could do that to my car". The ducktail peaked my interest, then it got worse. A "rs" fiberglass bumper, bigger wheels, etc. Then I though, the paint on my car is just okay, can't just paint the spoilers. What about the rust at the jack points. Many of you, I'm sure, see where this story is going. The bottom line: I saw these cool 911 here, got too many ideas, and now I have parts being shipped to me from all over the country for the car I was just going to drive. It's all your fault!

P.S. I will send you before and after shots when it is complete.

Get used to it, it only gets worse. And if you think you addiction is bad, boost is the worst.

funny how one is content to first just own a classic p car and accept all the little "flaws" that were there at the time of purchase. that content somehow transitions to "i must own a nice example of a classic p car" - ask me how i know...cause you know.

I bought the best 3.2 I could find, this was supposed to be an only car. I justified it to myself by getting rid of all the other cars I had at the time. It then got improved so much I had to buy another one (even better than the first was originally) to use every day!

I got the bug real bad with my Carrera and have poured far more money into it than I will ever get back out of it. So I figured I could stop this madness by just buying a Varioram 993 and committing to keeping it stock. After all, they're awesome right out of the box. I even found one with all the mods I wanted already done - Fabspeed exhaust, aluminum gauge bezels, rs shifter, cool wheels, built-in k40. But now I'm shopping for Euro front and rear lenses, HID's, rs clutch kit with LWF, 18" wheels, split spoiler grill, strut brace, PSS-9 shocks, etc. It just never ends. Just accept it. It is what it is.

Same story here. 2-1/2 years later, I'm still apart. With each day I find something else that can be added to the list. It got worse, I stopped going to PCA events because I had to drive my truck. I toyed with the idea of another 911 but knew it too would become a project. So now I own a boxster to get around everyday and work on my project nights and weekends. The lifestyle has its up and downs but is enjoyable.

hahahaha - Caution, you're only showing the first syptoms of the disease. Mine is in a very advanced stage with 5 Pcars, but I'm trying to sort of sell two of them (kind of). It's a cruel thing...

Wait until you start working in the garage late into the night.

And what starts as an oil leak may turn into 2 weeks of work then a mad rush to get it all bolted togethet to make a DE.

Two months later, and I have another DE to make..just spent last night rebuilding pedal cluster...until 3:30 AM! But I also got my Dansk pre-muf installed....

Like Richard I think buying a 993 will allow me to sleep better and more, but I see Richard is still in deep doodoo!

I just finished a job that I wouldn't have even thought of taking on because I had to do it on a Saturday and a couple of late days after other work. I was thinking of a Porsche fix the whole time

Same here. They should come with some sort of warning lable. Maybe that is what all the german language stuff is under the hood. In one of the other posts a fellow was looking for tires. Just to ride down the road on. Not thinking of any hard cornering. Like me he has had the car only a week. (I'm an expert now had mine 6 weeks ) Next week the question will be what is the best anti torsion bar and where can I bolt the roll cage. Whatever you do avoid the words solo II and moto-X.

What else should we be spending our money on anyways?

I figure in fifteen years my daughter can work her way through college just like I did.
