PPI for 993 at or near Santa Cruz?
Any suggestions for a shop that knows 993's for a PPI, at, or nearest to, Santa Cruz?
Would the nearest be in San Jose? Thanks!

I asked Chuck (elephant racing) about this just the other day. He says Jerry Woods is not that far away and is the same price as other folks in the area.

I don't know if he'll go all the way to Santa Cruz, but Tom Ammon is reputed to be a great guy, and he's a mobile Porsche mechanic.

can't go wrong with RMG in sunnyvale. a bit far, but well worth it.
you can also go with mobil works east Jimmy is tom's "partner" of sorts.

For a PPI, the best by far in that area are Don Wise in Campbell and Robert M. ("Bob;" RMG Enterprises) Grigsby in Sunnyvale. I am not sure that Smart Racing Products/Jerry Woods Enterprises do PPI's. They do not do general service as far as I know.
I was just there one week ago, hanging out for a few hours while they loaded the Ex-Akin 962 and 935 plus the '79 Sebring-winning Barbour 935 for their trip back East. The latter was just finished in the JWE restoration shop. Stellar. I studied these cars closely for several hours as they prepped for loading, and spoke to the driver at length about the owners other cars, which include a 917/30. If you must stay more local to Santa Cruz, contact the PCA Region president, whom I believe is Steve Taty. He will probably have a recommendation more local. But RMG is wiorth the trip if you want a detailed analysis. - Mike

Try Tim Benson of Fastlane Porsche Repair in Santa Cruz. He's near the Soquel overpass (of Hwy 1) on Soquel Drive (on the west side of the bridge). He's behind the small used Mercedes dealership.
He's done fantastic stuff and is really great. Alan |

I'll second on Tim. He really supports and runs cars in our AX's and I think he is factory trained... many years experience. Get the body checked...try Cecil Beach at Bodystyles in San Jose. 408 436 1616
