Materials/big spanner/key/method

its my measly attempt at detailing, and the thin end of the wedge from which i shall never recover,

I used "speedy metal polish", a rag and a lot of elbow grease. Good wintertime project.

if so I've clearly overestimated sod it!

I've been at it with wire wool and engine cleaner, and the pitted surface looks not unlike the
moon,




Think I'll just bail out now and fix the lid shut with extra strong glue......
