The duck's on!

I am so pleased with how this came out. The bodyshop did an amazing job prepping and color matching. For some odd reason I was never crazy about the way my 78 looked with the Carrera tail I bought a few months back. I haven't decided on graphics yet, most likely a subtle Black 9-1-1, I don't like the 911SC logo.

Next I'll buy a used 74 bumper section and do the Euro bumperettes to finish it off.

Ulrich

Really nice, but you've got to lower it now that you've got a Duck on it

Looks great to me! So what's different with the '74 bumper and later bumpers? I completely understand you wanting to use the Euro bumperettes though!

Where'd you get your Euro lenses? They look great!

The diff is that the US bumper pads use 4 mounting screws, 2 of which would be exposed by the smaller pads. The 74 bumper just has the 2 holes.

I had a Carrera RS decal modified for mine....instead of RS it says 3.2....No Bad Days grapics has made some that I know of...but his are a little thicker than mine.....You could also save some money and just do a bumperette delete if you wanted instead of euro bumper.

It's just not period correct. I don't understand why you would install a ducktail on such a car.

looks VERY NICE!!!

just think of it as a back date to a 74 Carrera with a 3.0....or in my case a 3.2 if it makes you feel any better.....It may not be "period correct" but it sure looks good...and in my worthless opinion the best looking tail created to date....my brother put a Duck Tail on his 993 and it totally transformed that car as well.

Besides being period correct for the 1974 Carrera, as has been stated, the ducktail really does stabilize the car at speed. Before I installed my duck (and chin spoiler of course) the car wandered and weaved and felt really kinda sketchy north of 100 mph. With the aero aids installed though I can pretty much let go of the wheel at any speed and feel perfectly safe.

Very nice looking tail. Is it all fiberglass or one of those that have been molded onto a metal decklid?
If it's all fiberglass i would love to see a pic of the fit at the upper edge below the back window.

I WANT ONE FOR MY 88 TARGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....NOW
