1983 911SC fusebox wiring
I am in the process of removing an old alarm system. Everything is pretty much self contained, but I'm trying to figure out what's supposed to be attached to the 7th fuse. (counting from the rear forward)
Attached at the bottom is a green/blue wire and currently attached at the top is a white wire that goes to a relay for the alarm. Is this position normally empty and can the white wire safely be removed? |

According to the Bently manual in the '83's the 15th fuse (they count from the front of the car) serves the brake lights, the speed control and the light for the console fan switch. From the Porsche manual current flow for the '82 (no '83) it serves the brake lights, side marker lights, parking lights and the parking brake and seat belt warning light. I'll check my '83 when I get into work to see if it differs from the manual or which one it agrees with or if the top to the fuse is empty.

OK, I had a look at mine. That fuse has nothing attached to the top and two red wires attached to the bottom. I had to clean up a lot of extra wire in this car in the last year from old sound systems/alarms/ phones and stuff so I'm doubtful as to how original things are under the hood.

Thanks for the help guys, I got it. No wire on the top side and everything is working fine.
I ripped out about 15 pounds of wiring and components from the 80's era alarm, cd changer and cell phone hook-ups. ![]() |
