Upholstery referal wanted, So. Cal.
The front seats in my '78 SC is in need of reupholstery. Anyone know of a good shop in Orange County, California? A shop that has reasonable prices and won't charge more because it's for a porsche?

It sounds funny but that's actually not a bad suggestion. I had quite a few jobs done in TJ in years past -- motorcycle seats, couch cushions, bar stools, etc. Dirt cheap, nice results.
Not sure I would take my Porsche seats there, but then again, who knows??? Esp. if you bring a proper recover kit to them. Anyway, they certainly don't fit the "inexpensive" criteria but I just had my 911 interior redone by Autos Intl (http://www.autosintl.com) in Escondido. World class shop, world class results, prices to match. Seriously though, if you want them to look like original quality, choose your shop carefully. Note that materials were ~1/2 the cost of my job -- labor is important, but so are the right fabrics/leather, padding, webbing, etc. Good luck, Chris C. |
