Restoration- Those hard to reach places

Hello all...no coffee makers in this post. I need some advice about the rustproofing of my bare-metal, dipped 911 tub.

Knowing the dangers of dipped unibodies, we are trying to be very thorough about the channels, box sections, pinch welds, etc. Everything is going to get shot with POR15. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get into the conduits in the center tunnel? There are two main conduits on the right and left sides, one for fuel lines and the other for electrical. They are both too long to get a wand all the way in. Plus, there are smaller cable tubes with less than 1/2" ID that are tough to reach. Is it worth the effort to try to get some paint or coating in there, or should we try to shoot some sort of penetrating oil? If so, what specific products?

If anyone else has any other tricks for sealing and neutralizing in areas other than those mentioned, feel free to chime in.

Thanks,
Dave

I use "Owatrol" for these applications.
It's a product usually used by shipbuilders, for yachting etc.
Its a kind of "oil", which you can apply directly on rust. It is not removing corrosion, but stopping it.
I have used it 4 years ago in my trunk area (the famous ground floor panel which rusts ever).
1st coating with Owatrol, let dry for 1 week, sweep of residues a smuch as you can.
2nd coating with paint +5% Owatrol.

No rust seen since, even as the area is not really dry all trough the year.

Standard procedure for any body shop when replacing a damaged panel is to rust proof the inside areas after welding. 3M and other companies make rust proofing materials designed to be sprayed in these hidden recessed areas out of a gun used to apply undercoating. A 3' long plastic tube fits on the business end of the gun for a much longer reach. All are available for small dollars from auto paint distributors. Gun about $25, long tube $10, rust proof $10-$12 per qt. Brand name is 3m Rust Fighter-I #051135-08891. Combustible, irritant,"Central nervous system depression". This means it will get you high as a kite. Wear a mask.

I also work on MGB's and there is a product called "Waxoyl" that you can purchase that is used to protect those hard to reach places. Comes with a wand that you attach to the sprayer. You can get this product from Moss Motors www.mossmotors.com

What, no coffemaker posts? I really perked up when I saw it was you again-always good to see your mug around. I'm not trying to stir up trouble-seems like there's always plenty of that brewing. Plenty of people drop by with an axe to grind, but have trouble taking their lumps like all of us regular joes. Guess we'll have to work harder on filtering them out-or roast them good if they get all steamed up. Wow, maybe I oughta swtich my Java to decaf, huh? Hey, did those Porsche coffemakers come with a set of Konas? Ok, I'll stop now-bean meaning to give this stuff up, anyway-caffiene says my doctor makes me nervous.

It only took a cuppa minutes-not quite instant, but close. More of an espresso job, I guess you could say. Sorry I took so long to reply, but you know what they say--better latte than never.
