Sydneysiders - Machine Shop and Tool Shop

Looking for some recommendations for head rebuilding and case cleaning, cam grinding/hardening, bushing replacements.

Also looking for a good shop that carries high-quality tools...need new torque wrenches, engine stand, cabinets, etc.

I'm in Mosman and work in CBD.

Thanks all!

John

Do not have personnel experience as am down in Vic. but I hear Bob Whyms is good.

He has been in the game since before the 80's and has actually worked on 934's at LeMans. Resorted his own factory 3.0 RSR.

Thanks Simon. I've contacted them, they do work, still looking for the tools/parts.

Any other Sydney suggestions for pro-quality tools? Also needed is an engine stand and bracket. There has to be someone out there with used ones after finishing/stalling on their project!

best,
John

Hi John
There's a list on the austalian board of porsche related auto places that might help you out. You may also want to put this post in the australian section.

I've been out to Bob's a couple of times and I'm pretty impressed with how they operate. Seem to be quite thorough and straight shooters. I've had no experience with head work though so can't point you in any direction.

I Don't knpw about Bob Whims, but he's been less than friendly to pre 90's 911's and myself (several anaonomous) calls over the lat 12 months. Make your own judgement.
