How many hours should I allocate for....tensioners

How long should I expect to spend to get into the tensioner area and replace and broken or loose chain ramps? And maybe the chain with a (masterlink) chain that doesn't require splitting the crankcase (whatever that means, but I think I have the General Idea that splitting the crankcase is complicated and stuff http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

The toughest part of the job for me was getting the muffler off. I upgraded my 83 SC to pressure fed tensioners recently. I had to drill through the side of the nuts holding muffler to catalytic. Then broke them off. The tensioners and chain ramps aren't bad after you get the A/C compressor and mount and the muffler out of the way. If your oil lines are ok you won't have to pull the distributor. Might check them for cracks if they have never been replaced. Just take your time and you will enjoy the job. These cars are really a pleasure to tinker with. Have fun!

I'd allocate a full Saturday.

I don't think I'd worry about the chain, they last a long, long time, and I think I'd rather have an older original one piece chain than a new one with a master link. The original one will be fine.

I would change the ramps, though, they are cheap and its easy to do.

Don't you have a Carrera? You already have the pressure feds. What's wrong with your tensioners, and how do you know?
