Flimsy SC turn signal/wiper stalks
I love my 911SC. Everything about it exudes quality...except the turn signal/wiper switches. As most of you know, they're made out a cheap, flimsy plastic and the signal return feels just as bad especially when compared to the stalks found on short hood cars. The sound made when returning the turn signal stalk manually makes you wonder if the stalk is going to break off into your hand.
Does anyone make a quality replacement for the above mentioned items whether it's out of a better quality plastic or aluminum, for example? If not do any of you folks have a sense as to how difficult it would be to manufacture such an item? Last, would the R&R of these pieces be a DIY job? I'd appreciate your assistance.

My 79 SC also has a "brittle-plasticky" feel when manually cancelling the signals. I would also be curious to know if there is a fix for the issue.

After 25+ years, they need a little lube.
It requires taking the wheel and plastic covers off and dabbing some grease on the various friction points.

Put some clear silicone grease on it, it will soften the awfull noise; if not just rev your engine harder.
