Where can I find a set of 2.4 S MFI stacks and Throttle bodies?
I am looking for a set of 73 MFI 2.4 S stacks and throttle bodies for my 2.7 RS motor project.
Does anyone know where I can find them? Rebuilt would be fantastic but as long as they are in rebuildable condition they will work. Any idea how much a rebuildable set costs these days? |
No idea on cost...to find a set? I'd suggest calling the P-car wrecked-em yards, place wanted ads on the posting boards, etc. I'd suggest you look for '72 or '73 for the better placement of the cold start feature.

I see them on eBay every once in awhile....
Also sometimes they are sitting in the shelves of Porsche repair shops when everyone was pulling the MFI and replacing it with carbs back in the day. You could also check with Supertec Performance as they do quite a bit of MFI engine rebuilds and may have some leftover parts laying around. You'll likely need to be both patient and resourceful to score a set. Also remember that T & E stacks can be bored out and rebuilt identical to the S/RS stacks and throttle bodies. I think the last set I saw on eBay were north of $1600.... MFI systems are quickly becoming made of unobtainium! |
I'll sell you my '72 911T throttles/stacks for $250.. Send them to Supertec and they'll do them out to 2.4S/2.7RS specs...'72-73 cold-start, looks identical to 2.7RS, same performance. Only difference is 72T stacks have the number "316" in place of E "314" or 911S "312"

Josh,
What is the core engine you are starting with? You may find it desirable to start with a complete but distressed 2.4T engine. There a LOT of parts to the MFI. Best, Grady |
Grady,
I have an early 1973 T with MFI that I am restoring to concourse condition. However I could not bring my self to rebuild the engine to T specs when for just a little more $ I can build it to a 2.7 RS spec motor and concourse judges will non the wiser. The case is done and I have rebuilt S heads, and all MFI bits. The problem is that the T Throttle bodies have broken are cracked at the mounting holes and can't be repaired. I guess I could just find some T MFI throttle bodies and have them bored out when I rebuild them. But again I need to find a set any ideas? |
Scott,
Do the 72 T Throttle bodies have the same part numbers as the early 73 units? If so I am interested in purchasing yours. Can you send me some pictures particularly of throttle body base and interior. jwerion@aol.com |
Josh-yes, they have the same part numbers. Sending you an email.
Cheers Scott |
