need help diagnosing oil pressure
First, since I've owned the car the oil pressure has fluctuated between 1 bar and 1.5 bar (fully warm) at idle and maxed our around 5 bar above 3k rpm or so with no fluctuation.
Seemingly overnight when fully warmed up the car the need now fluctuates around 2.25 bar at idle and pegs the 5 bar around 2200 rpm. The engine seems to run fine and the oil level is fine as well as the temperature. I grounded the oil pressure sending unit lead and the needle went to 5 bar. I've been wanting to replace the sending unit for some time now to get rid of the fluctuation at idle but have not gotten around to it. I think this is a sender issue, but just to be cautious I'd thought I'd post the issue and see if there are any differing responses. Is there a mechanical issue with the engine that could do this, like an internal blockage? ![]()

I agree with your diagnosis. You could also check the guage with the key on but the engine not running. I'll be you see about 1-2 bar. Replace the sender.
