What steering wheel is this??

a couple of weeks ago I was reading a post here on pelican about someone going to make a repo steering wheel of the infamour RS or RSR wheel.

Well, I subscribed to it and now I can't find it. Anyway... I have attached 2 pictures of a recent article form Hemmings Sports & Exotic car magazine showing, maybe, such wheel trting to be made???

Any help as to what wheel this is and where is that earlier post on this subject.
Thanks!! Bob

That looks like a MOMO prototipo, sold by PP, and used in many of the RSR cars.

can one still buy these wheels? If so, where, and do they look like this one or do they "have a bend"? (What is the bend?)

Also, anyone know what is the earlier post on someone making a repo of maybe this wheel??
Bob

I bought a NOS flat spoke one a few years ago, hard to find from what I have heard.

I know of a friend who found one on ebay, try searching around there could be someone out there selling one...

The newer bent ones are common, that everyone sells.....

I think they were talking about reproducing a different wheel, an original porsche wheel, not a momo wheel...

momo still makes the prototipo wheel, which is what pelican sells

the flat spoke are the older versions, I do not think they make those anymore....

jt- I appreciate all that you can do to help me out. By the way, do you know the differences between the protitipo (sp) wheel offered by pelican and how it differs from the oe/factory wheel?
Thank you! Bob

Looks like Mark Allin makes repro wheels, he was the guy who bought vintage seats www.vintageseats.com try contacting him

found this on early S registry

When a factory 914-6 GT steering wheel was not available for my GT project, Mark Allin came through for me by providing an exact, fabulous looking reproduction Leather-Wrapped 380mm GT Steering Wheel http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/22425215 - As a matter of fact, I liked the first one so much, I ordered a second GT steering wheel http://www.pbase.com/9146gt/image/43044905

"Bob's" are great!! Thanks!! That is the post I was talking about.

Bob: What do you think of this wheel? Do you think it will be made?
I hope they try to repro it to match as close as possible, however, I don't know about patents or legal stuff to know if they can't make it exact. Something about min of 20% needs to be different, BUT, maybe the 17 or so years has expired and they can run with it??

Bob another
