scale model 911T
Anyone know where I can buy a small scale model 1968-1973 911 T -- Coupe?
|
I'm in Cologne Germany right now on a trip. Tomorrow I'll try to go to the model shop down the street and see if I can find one.
|
What scale? It makes a big difference. There are dozens and dozens of 911 models out there. Also, do you mean a kit to build or "a model"? I'm assuming the latter. I think I can find you one from one of my catalogues if you tell me what scale, or at least how long, in inches, you envision it being.
|
I forgot, are you looking for a built metal car, or a plastic model that you build / paint? What scale?
|
Thanks for the replies. I am interested in any size model - preferably less than 10-12" but larger than 4-5" -- whether I have to build it - plastic or metal. I just want something for my desk that looks like my 1973 911.

Thanks -- but no pre 1973 911 coupes are available on that website. Still looking, if any one has a lead.

I have an unbuilt plastic kit in the box; I'll dig it out and see if it's something that might interest you.

I've found this to be rather odd too. You can get pre-built models of 914s and 924s, but try to find a nice 1/18 scale '73 Carrera RS or any early 911. Impossible as far as I know... |
I think I saw some early Carrera RS 's on the above reference site. Search on that site for "Porsche 911" They are on the 3rd or 4 page of available models.
|
A T is going to be tough to find...
I have an 'Eagle Race RS' and 'S' Die cast in 1:18 scale.. about 10 inches long....very very nice...even if the rear arches are the same.... There is also a Minichamps die cast.S and 66 Normal as well in 1:43 I also have '69 S in 1:24 as a plastic kit...not certain of the brand. You can usually find a few good ones of fleabay.... |
Jouef makes an S and an RS. I have each.. 1/18.... Check out Ebay and also scale18.com
|
I have a "Silver" early 911 -1/24 scale by MARTOYS which was made in Italy
It's a metal model with tinted windows, front & rear decks open as do both doors.SmileWavy |
Thanks guys! Are those Jouef models of decent quality? Hard to tell by the tiny pics.
|
They are about the same quality as Burago, maisto, etc... Definitely not in the same league as AutoArt or Exoto, but for the money ($20 or so), can't be beat... Besides, beggars can't be choosers ;-)
I can't wait for a SC or 3.2 in 1/18... It's pretty much the only one I'm missing ! |
Here's a pic of a couple of early 911 1/18 scale models that you might still be able to find:

Try these links to find a bunch - you also may want to spend some time on the Early911S Registry, even if you don't drive an S. All early cars are welcome.

No one has mentioned eBay? That's where I got mine...
|
Fujimi makes a 1/24th model. I have built two of them and they are very detailed. The picture on the front shows a rally car but it can be built as a stock model.
Here is one on ebay. They sell for 45.00 at model shops. |
