rear view mirror removal?
My 78CS has the mirror rather low on the windscreen. This interfers with my vision when making right hand turns because the mirror is positioned exactly where I want to end the turn. I would like to remove the mirror and reposition it about two inches higher. It appears the visors will allow this clearance and teh widscreen certainly has enough room. Anyone even intentionaly removed the rear view mirror from the windscreen? If so, how did you do it and what did you use. Any help is appreciated since I am tired of having to slow down in right hand turns.

My mirror has fallen off twice over the years in freezing weather ... if you remove the mirror from the foot/mount and try tapping at the glass/foot junction, parallel to the glass with a putty knife and plastic mallet, I suspect it will pop off, giving you the opportunity to reposition it where you want! Just how cold you want it to be when you try it ... well it shouln't be too long before a frosty Saturday morning would be a suitable time!
