Pre engine drop questions
I'm preparing to drop the engine in my SC Saturday. I'm following Wayne's advice in 101, but I'm doing the engine and transmission together.
I've got every thing disconnected with 2 known exceptions. One is a fuel line on the engine, should be in the photo below with the arrow pointing to it. I cant see this very well. I'm assuming I hold the line on the "flats" and use the wrench to loosen the nut, is this correct, like on the filter and accumulator? Here is the picture http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1168481057.jpg Second question. Looks like I have an electronic speedometer. Black wire comes out of the passenger side of the trans. How do I disconnect this? Other than this I'm ready to go. Thanks |
Speedometer can be disconnected in the tunnel. somewhere near the shift coupler I beleave.

Inside the car? I'll take a look.
Thanks Ron. Jay |
On the fuel return line, you can get line wrenches on both sides, the smaller side is a 13 if I recall. It may take a bit to crack them the first time, but you will get it.
The speedo pickup is removed but by removing the 10MM nut on the cover over the sensor. After that you can just wiggle the thing out, it looks like a mini hockey puck. I just zip tie it out of the way after that. |
You know, I never noticed that HUGE connector when loosening the coupler.

Thanks Scott, the confirmation I needed. Yes it's going to take some force, and didn't want to do that till I was sure it was the right thing.
And I'll try the side cover less wire to deal with. Thanks Jay |
